James Griffin VIEW PROFILE

OBITUARY

James A. Griffin Jr., age 57, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 at his father's home in Boiling Springs. 
He was born May 10, 1959 in Pittsburgh to James A. Griffin, Sr. of Boiling Springs and the late Linda Sue (Noey) Griffin.
At Westfield HS, Westfield, NJ, Jim excelled as one of New Jersey's top high school jazz trombonists and was a member of the National Honor Society. 
After graduation he attended Rutgers University and majored in Chemical Engineering. Upon entering his third year of college, Jim suffered a disabling illness. Throughout his lifetime of struggle he retained his ability to live independently, overcome life's adversities that have come his way, and has served as an example to all. He will surely be missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his father, Jim is survived by 2 sisters, Donna L. Griffin and Linda S. (and husband Michael) Wagner of Carlisle, PA; 3 brothers, Patrick M. (and wife Gina) of Boynton Beach, FL, Mark A. (and wife Gail) of Lancaster, PA, and Thomas F. Griffin of New Oxford, PA; 2 uncles, 3 aunts, and 11 nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Jimmy was preceded in death by 4 aunts.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 87 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA 17015 with the Very Rev. William C. Forrey officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
