John M. Durante Longtime Westfield resident, 58

John M. Durante, 58, of Westfield, N.J., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Helen's Church, Westfield, followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Durante was born in Newark, N.J., and was a lifelong Westfield resident. John was a retired U.S. Army Ranger. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack (2009) and Jean (2015), and his sister, Cheryl (2005). John is survived by his brother, Anthony; along with his aunts, Rose and Dora; his niece, Amanda Grace Durante, and nephew, John Anthony Lambert. He will also be deeply missed by his many cousins. Donations in John's memory may be made to the V.A. Hospital System.
